Ein neues Jahr tritt froh herein,
mit aller Welt in Frieden;
vergiss wieviel der Plag und Pein
das alte Jahr beschieden!
Du lebst: sei dankbar, froh und klug,
und wenn drei bösen Tagen
ein guter folgt, sei stark genug,
sie alle vier zu tragen.
